The Hartmann Group is a shipping company group, operating worldwide. It is based on several cornerstones: ship owning, technical ship management, chartering, crewing and training, as well as non-maritime services – with all companies united under the supervisory management of the holding company Hartmann AG.
Founded in 1981 by Captain Alfred Hartmann, the Hartmann Group developed from a single ship manager to a global network of independent, though closely connected maritime specialist companies. In June of 2008, Dr. Niels Hartmann took over as Chief Executive Officer.
The companies of the Group are family-owned. They jointly employ about 6,000 employees worldwide. The Hartmann Group’s fleet consist of about 200 ships, divided into six segments: gas tankers, product tankers, bulk carriers, container vessels, multi-purpose vessels and Offshore support vessels (AHTS). With a dedicated technical, commercial and crewing management team, each of the segments again focuses on specific niche markets.
